Packaging Possibilities PODCAST: How Bumble Bee Switched Packaging Formats

Today, consumer goods manufacturers are searching for ways to meet their sustainability goals to address customer demand for greener packaging solutions. To fulfill their sustainability strategy and align with consumer trends, manufacturers must invest in packaging machines that can run more readily recyclable materials while maintaining production capacity.

In a partnership with R.A Jones, Bumble Bee Seafoods replaced their shrink-wrapping machine with a Meridian XR MPS-300 multipacker that allows them to substitute their plastic packaging with recyclable paperboard. In addition to the new sustainable packaging, the Meridian XR was designed as a “future-proofed” system able to handle new configurations as needed — while fitting into the existing floor space.
