R.A JONES’ New Criterion® CLI Intermittent Motion Cartoner

R.A JONES continues its expansion of the highly respected Criterion line of cartoners by introducing a new intermittent motion machine, the all new Criterion CLI-100, debuting October 14th at PackExpo Chicago. Building on the success of the recently launched Criterion CL-240, the CLI series of end load cartoners was engineered to provide more flexibility for running different types of products and the largest range of carton sizes in the industry.

“The Criterion CLI-100 is a very important piece of our cartoning portfolio. It complements the rest of the product line and provides us with a family of machines. These machines have a common construction and 60-70% common parts, allowing us to streamline our parts ordering and assembly process. It also provides our customers with common operation between machines, resulting in less training required when moving from line to line. Additionally, the commonality of parts reduces the amount of spare parts that our customers need to stock. The result is a robust and sanitary machine that has an operator & maintenance friendly design, repeatable & tool-less changeovers, and reliable operations, all of which will lead to greater overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for our customers”, says Craig Walker, Portfolio Manager of Cartoning at R.A JONES.

The Criterion CLI-100 is an intermittent motion machine available in 6”, 9” or 12” pitch with production speeds up to 200 cartons per minute. Other enhancements on the CLI-100 that will be on display in Chicago include:

• Variable pitch bucket conveyor using linear motor technology, for simple and flexible product control
• Feathering pusher mechanism using a 2-axis Kinematic Arm design, provides access to change pusher heads from operator side of the machine
• Quick and repeatable changeovers with Acc-U-Change™, for today’s vertical start-up requirements
• Interior machine lighting with “Fault Zone” indication, improves operator awareness to address issues sooner
• Enhanced sanitary design with a stainless steel bulkhead frame and minimal horizontal surfaces

The Criterion CLI-100 will be on display during Pack Expo Chicago at booth S-2501. It will be integrated into a complete pouching line of innovation only available through Coesia that includes the new VOLPAK SI-280 HFFS pouching machine upstream and the FLEXLINK RC10 palletizing robot downstream.

There will be two presentations on the Coesia Innovation Stage to educate attendees on the new features and benefits the CLI-100 will bring to their production line.
